Story

Aaaah.. this page will close down in a couple of weeks - in mid July! Let's please have a last effort to squeeze up the donations a little more! many friends say "oh yes great I'll get round to giving soon..." ...well, we have two more weeks please!

David walked the full 56 miles barefoot and suffered a bit - so that you can have the pleasure of giving to a very well worthwhile charity! Please do it now!

David Round - who was Haslemere Mayor until the middle of May (he held the post for a year) has finally finished walking the Greensand Way in surrey barefoot - as a challenge - to raise money for the Mayor's Charities. It took twice as long as planned - a result of pain, terrain and rain. And a blister. It took 9 days rather than 5! But this web page will live on for a few more weeks so that we can gather last-minute donations.

David met many people on the Walk who were all very nice and many donated as well. Please do give generously for the Autistic charity in Haslemere.

David has as one if his charities this year the "Project Horizon" at the Haslemere Museum. This is to fund training and other costs involved in opening the Museum at quiet times to suit children on the Autistic Spectrum. It will help both autistic children and their carers. David has an autistic grandson and appreciates the problems that his son and family face in bringing up an autistic child.

He has completed walking the 56 miles of this path barefoot as a challenge to be overcome - please donate generously!
