Weʼve raised £3,705 to for emergency funds so Haste Theatre can continue making work for the stage & community

Funded on Wednesday, 23rd September 2020

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Haste Theatre has independently run since 2013, and devised 5 original shows (Oyster Boy, Beyond Cragporth Rock, The Hideout, Where the Hell is Bernard? and Ex-Batts & Broilers), touring internationally to critical acclaim.

We do not receive regular funding, and after Arts Council England’s decision not to fund our emergency bid we are in the serious situation of ceasing operation when reserves run out in August. We have project funding to finish creating our 6th show, An Anastasia, which we will honour as soon as we can to support the incredible creatives we have on board, but we will have no means to go ahead and tour it.

Our shows find lightness in the dark, and the dark in light. We run workshops and community projects for all kinds of people; those who are creatives and those who aren’t, with the aim to empower and provide joyful experiences for as many people as we can. We keep costs as low as possible to keep them accessible for those who need us.

Due to Covid-19 we have so far lost more than £10,000 through cancelled tours, workshops and funding, and this figure is only set to rise as we have no idea when we will be able to begin operating again. We need some help to stabilise the company, and hit the ground running again as soon as we can.

We therefore are forced to ask you, our audience, for help. If you have ever found joy in attending a show or workshop of ours and are in the position to give some support, we would be sincerely grateful for any donation large or small. We totally understand this pandemic has affected everyone and as our audience is predominantly younger and of lower incomes than average theatre audiences, please do not donate if you feel you’re not in a position to! Give us a share instead?

    We've never needed you more.

    Nothing but love, Haste x

      Update from the Page owner

WOW! Thank you so much to everyone for helping us raise over £3000 in just 4 days! We are in shock, and truly humbled at the kindness - we promise to make you all proud. The amount has meant we can stabilise the company for which we are beyond grateful. The JustGiving page will stay open, any extra donations will go towards touring the new show/rolling out more workshops as soon as we are able to do so. Thank you. Thank you thank you. 💛
