The villagers of Haughton have been coming together every year for over two decades to raise money for a number of local causes, including Katharine House Hospice, St Giles Primary Academy, and Midlands Air Ambulance. Over £120,000 has been raised over the last 20 years.

From small beginnings with just a few households taking part, dozens of houses are now lit up each year to bring joy to visitors from near and far, whilst raising money for these excellent causes.

Bob Swinnerton, one of the founders, collates and presents the money to the grateful charities each year.

Katharine House Hospice - Based in Stafford, the hospice's aim is to enable patients with life limiting conditions, and those close to them, to live life as fully as possible and make the most of the time that they have. Care is free and provided where and when it is needed most: at the hospice, in the community and at home. The Fundraising team said: "On behalf of us all here at Katharine House Hospice I would like to say a huge thank you to you and the residents of Haughton for the phenomenal support Haughton Christmas Lights have given to the Hospice since 2005."

Haughton St Giles C of E Academy is a medium-sized, rural school set in the beautiful Staffordshire countryside between Stafford and Newport. They are committed to providing an education that encompasses the all-round development of every child, which provides the opportunity for each child to grow spiritually, morally, physically and intellectually as valued members of the school community.

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) operates and funds three air ambulances covering six Midlands counties including Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands.
