Story

We are setting up a support group for domestic abuse victims. We are here to provide peer support to all who have either been in or are experiencing domestic abuse.
We are 3 women who met on an abuse programme. We formed a friendship and a what's app group was set up. We were able to provide each other with emotional support. This gave us confidence and we have been able to move forwards by sharing experiences and realising we were not alone.
We then met a few more ladies on another abuse course who joined our what's app group. They expressed how much this was really helping them and how much they really needed this support.
Knowing that they could just message and chat knowing they were receiving emotional support.
The 3 of us then realised we could help others in simillar situations by setting up an official support group.
Our aim is to provide peer support in The Heart of Flavour coffee shop based in Maidstone, this will be a safe environment for anyone who wishes to pop in and chat or share experiences etc.
Once we have become recognised and are established we eventually hope to help with peer support activities.
