Story
My 11 year old son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 3 years ago. He never really managed to get tight control of his blood sugars using just insulin injections. He then discovered the omnipod insulin pump. After being on this pump for almost 18 months things are a lot better Hayden has more freedom to do what he want without worrying about injections as the pump does all this for him and his blood sugars are much more controlled. Unfortunately Hayden was walking home from school and started to have a hypo (low blood sugars) where started feeling funny so he stopped to check his levels and treat his hypo. When he got home he realised that his meter for his pump was missing. Afterr stopping to check his bloods he somehow managed to loose his metre. We have retraced steps and appealed on facebook but no luck. We then found that in order to replace this lost pdm it would cost £250 which we are really struggling to find until somone suggested trying to crowdfund for help. So he we are Hayden has had to go back to insulin injections for the time being until we can afford a new pump which I am hoping is soon so my little man can regain control of his condition we appreciate you taking the time to read our story and are very greatful for any help recieved thank you
