Story
Jacob Farr has been selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia, USA in 2019. This is an amazing opportunity to represent Humberside and also the UK Contingent. This is the pinnacle for any Scout who can only attend once in their lifetime. Jacob has to raise £3,845.00 in order to attend and this is just one of the fundraising ideas the Humberside Contingent has come up with. Jacob hopes that when he returns from this once in a lifetime opportunity that he will encourage the younger generation to join a local beavers, cubs or scout group and see for themselves the great opportunities attending a Scout organisation can present. Scouting has given him fantastic opportunities to do lots of activities that people who are not in Scouts don’t get to do. He has thoroughly enjoyed all his experiences and has grown in confidence. It would be great if you could sponsor him any amount to put towards his World Scout Jamboree, thank you very much, Jacob x
What?
On Sunday 1st July 2018 a group of Scouts from ages 13 to 17 will attempt to pull tractors of various ages and weights across a 100 metre strip. We are asking you to sponsor them for each metre they can pull the tractor – the furthest distance pulled will be recorded on their form. We have 3 large tractors, 2 medium sized tractors and 2 vintage tractors to pull in teams.
Why?
36 young people were chosen to represent Humberside at the World Scout Jamboree being held in West Virginia in 2019. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the young people and we have a lot of money to fundraise to get there. So why not let them do something crazy like pulling a few tractors?
