Story

My husband and I have been together for 6 years, we got married last year and it was the most happiest day of our lives, smiles all round, although beneath the smiles, we truly knew something something devastating about our future.

Sam and I have always dreamed of making a family, we wanted 4/5 children at least! we fell pregnant, really excited, but unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. This happened 5 more times. We were heartbroken more and more every time. I started to notice that my period was becoming less frequent and suffering terrible with other symptoms.

so in 2016 I knew we had to get checked, so after many many appointments, we were finally tested for a condition called PREMATURE OVARIAN FAILURE. It came back positive, I was going through early premature menopause at the age of 23. I was INFERTILE. the only way for us to conceive a child was via IVF with a donor egg.

The shock was immense, my life was totally turned upside down. it rocked us every way possible. We knew that this was life changing and we had to adjust and look at our future together. When we was diagnosed, we kept it to only close family and friends to know our situation as I felt a huge shame and embarrassment, I was so ashamed to call myself a women. it sent me into depression and huge anxiety. The thought of losing my husband was soul crushing, he has been absolutely amazing by standing by me and continuing our future together after me telling him to leave and go with a women who give you the chance of being a father, its true, he is a keeper!

Skip to 2 years later, no one was any wiser until one day I saw a post on a social media site about early menopause about a young woman being bullied for her POF condition. something inside knew that I had to make a stand and raise more awareness about thus horrible condition. I made a video talking about POF and how I was a sufferer and posted it on my Facebook page! It went viral very quickly, thousands of views/shares/comments within hours. it was truly overwhelming. hundreds of women coming forward asking for advice, asking for symptoms, giving us support with the kindest of words, we were truly humble. the feeling that you may of helped someone is so fulfilling.

once the video was out, national newspapers wanted to know more, itv news wanted a interview, radio stations asked us to come in for a chat. family and friends wanted to et up this page to start the process of the fund raising for our IVF journey, knowing people wanted to help achieve our dream is incredible.

So we knew that this mountain had to be climbed, we had to get the ball rolling on our IVF dream. We took part in a sponsored 5k run, my husband shaved his head, waxed his legs and chest!

we raised £1000. AMAZING. our dream is finally on its way.

We have found our clinic that we wish to proceed with, its a great facility. We were told how much we needed to save/raise. £11,000! we know its a lot, we knew it would be. but we are positive each and every day that it will happen.

JUNE 2ND we held a fundraising event which the community organised for Sam and I, we had jumble sale, facepainting, tattoos, lucky dip, book sale, bric a brac, hook a duck, little messes, bubbles and so much more! we raisid an amazing £1600!!

OUR DREAM IS TO BECOME PARENTS, MANY PEOPLE DONT HAVE TO PAY THOUSANDS OF POUNDS TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN FOR THEM BUT WE DO. BEING A MUMMY AND DADDY IS THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD, I WANT THE CHANCE FOR US TO BE PROMOTED TO THAT. WE WOULD GIVE A CHILD SO MUCH LOVE AND CARE, SO WOULD OUR FAMILIES. WE ASK KINDLY TO HELP AND SUPPORT US. ANY LITTLEST CHANGE WOULD BE HUGLEY APPRECIATED AND GRATEFUL. I HOPE THAT PEOPLE CAN SEE OUR STORY AND START UNDERSTANDING THEIR BODIES AND GET CHECKED FOR THE SLIGHEST CHANGE IN YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE.

WE THANK EVERYONE SINGLE PERSON WHO HAS HELPED US SO FAR AND CONTINUE TO DO SO!

THANK YOU X
