I have been training for the last six months and this will be a great challenge for me dealing with the intense amount of cycling each day for 9 days. I will be completing a minimum of 40 miles a day in a hot and humid environment.

I am completing this self funded challenge to raise money for 12yr old Lucas. Lucas was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, in October 2009. This is a disabling, progressive and life limiting disease for which there is no known cure, yet.

I aim to increase awareness of Lucas' condition, and raise money in an effort to provide him with the best quality of life that he can have.

All funds will be donated to Lucas in order for his parents to purchase a new wheelchair in order for Lucas to continue competing in power wheelchair football run by the WFA see more information here: http://www.thewfa.org.uk/

The wheelchair costs £10,000 which has been part funded however, a large amount is still required to be paid. Providing Lucas with this chair will allow him to have the opportunity to train with the England national squad and improve his quality of life.
