We are hoping to raise some money for a family at Market Rasen Pre School. Through no fault of their own, they are living in a flat with insufficient heating and it is costing the earth in electric bills. They are being supported with moving house hopefully very soon, but as it stands, 3 children under 7 years and Mum are sleeping in the front room at night where the only 2 storage heaters are in the whole flat, as that's the best place they can all keep warm. The baby sleeps in lots of layers, including warm socks and mittens, as do the elder two children, and Mum. They have done everything they can imagine and have done everything they have been asked to do by outer agencies. Simple things such as applying for new housing, to putting draft excluders in front of a drafty door, or where there is holes in the bathroom floor. Unfortunately, it's getting colder, the family are full of illness from the cold weather, they are having to bath elsewhere and simply cannot afford to put money on the storage heating constantly. It's a choice of feeding her family and supplying milk and nappies, or having heating. The aim is to raise some money so this family can simply have a warm home until they are able to move into a safe house for them all. Please support your local community!
