Meet Alfie .....our 10 year old, loud, excitable, roblox loving nephew.....

At just 14 months old Alfie was diagnosed with diplegic cerebal palsy, Alfies next chapter in starting secondary school is coming ever closer and he is STILL striving to walk independently. So as 2 proud and determined aunty's we are on a mission to get Alfie walking! And with your help, you too can to make this happen in 2025!!

This is Alfies story......

Our sister kirsty and her husband curtis started Alfie’s private physiotherapy journey in 2018, this is after the NHS could not stretch themselves any further to give him the fundamental treatment he needed on a regular basis as they themselves are also stretched to their limits, as parents kirsty and Curtis had to look for alternative private care.....which is where they came across the footsteps foundation....... and Alfie Bears footsteps journey then began.

It is here that children receive 1x1 physiotherapy tailored to their unique needs using specialised equipment and strengthening exercises. The footsteps foundation offers 3 weeks intense courses helping with the improvement of muscle tone and range, as you may know private and specialised knowledge comes at a cost, £1,125 for 1 hour a day for 3 weeks

£2,250 for 2 hours a day for 3 weeks

Alfie needs 4-5 of these 3 week intense sessions for 2 hours a day next year.Now that's a lot of money when you add it up.....until now kirsty and Curtis have tried to do as many as they can as a young working family.We feel it is now the right time to ask for help as this next year is going to be crucial for Alfies transition to secondary school.

This year Alfie has already undergone a operation in the hope to relieve the muscles in his legs with little success this is until he receives his bigger operation when he’s a bit older. Alfie has recently had a 3 week private session where they worked on his core strength so we would like to keep the momentum going with a rest over Xmas and then back to it in January. He is desperate and determined to walk so he can keep up with his friends.
