On 24th June 2026, my adventure buddy Cali, Tim and I will set off from John O’Groats with one destination in mind: Land’s End.

Around 1,500 miles. Three months. Countless sunrises, storms, blisters, wrong turns, laughter, and probably more days walking in soggy boots than I can count

But this walk is about far more than getting from one end of Britain to the other.

It’s about hope.

For the past 17 years I’ve spent my life working aboard sailing yachts, crossing oceans and exploring some of the most remote places on Earth. I’ve climbed mountains, sailed through storms, and learned that the hardest journeys are rarely the ones marked on a map.

Along the way, I met Cali.

She wasn’t born into comfort. She was born on the streets of French Polynesia, surviving on instinct until our paths crossed. She has no idea she’s supposed to be an “adventure dog.” She simply wakes up every morning believing the world is worth exploring, that strangers are future friends, and that every new path deserves a wagging tail.

She’s taught me more about resilience than she’ll ever know.

As we walk from one end of the country to the other, we’ll be following Britain’s incredible coastline, meeting people from every corner of the nation and proving that even the biggest challenges are conquered one step at a time.

But while we’re choosing this adventure, many women and girls don’t get to choose the road they’re walking.

Every day across the UK, women and children flee abuse carrying little more than a bag and the hope that somewhere, someone will help them begin again.

Women’s refuges provide exactly that. They offer safety when home is no longer safe. They provide warmth, support, dignity and, perhaps most importantly, the chance to imagine a different future.

That’s why every step Cali and I take will be raising money for two incredible refuges: one in Cornwall, my home, and one in Glasgow, where this journey begins. Every donation will be split equally between them, helping women rebuild their lives when they need it most.

This walk will hurt.

There will be days when the rain refuses to stop, when the miles seem endless, and when our legs wonder what on earth we’ve signed up for. There will also be unforgettable moments: wild camps, spectacular coastlines, unexpected kindness from complete strangers, and memories that will stay with us forever.

Because adventures have an incredible way of bringing people together.

If our journey inspires someone to lace up their boots, spend more time outdoors, or simply believe they’re capable of something bigger than they imagined, that’s wonderful.

But if together we can also help a woman take her first steps towards safety and a new life, then every blister, every hill, and every mile will have been worth it.
