Our Library in Hay is under threat of final closure in 2020

This is an urgent appeal to you.

Our goal is to raise funds for a new five-year plan to help ensure the survival of our Hay on Wye Library from threat of immediate closure by Powys County Council.

Unless we support this initiative financially NOW to save our community's Library, we will lose it and never get it back again. This is the third time the Council is preparing to close it down. And if it does, it begins by firing our librarians.

We are proposing to negotiate a five-year contract with Powys County Council to keep our Library open and fully serviced, giving our librarians security of employment, and ending the need for us to campaign to retain our Public Library year after year, after year.

With your support, we intend to go further and make innovations to the concept of the Public Library, and transform the services our Library provides to involve our whole community.
