Horbury Bridge CC Takes on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge – Supporting Vinnie’s Pantry

On 3rd August 2025, players, friends, and supporters of Horbury Bridge Cricket Club are taking on the mighty Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge – a gruelling 24-mile trek over Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, with over 5,000ft of ascent – all in the name of a brilliant cause: Vinnie’s Pantry.

Vinnie’s Pantry is a heartwarming initiative supported by Leeds Hospitals Charity and Family Integrated Care Leeds. It provides essential home comforts for families with babies in neonatal care. From crockery, cutlery, and kitchen appliances to games and craft supplies, Vinnie’s Pantry ensures that these families – during one of the most emotionally difficult times imaginable – have the everyday comforts that help make hospital stays a little more bearable.

We’re proud to be fundraising for such a meaningful cause, and every step we take on those fells is for the families who need our support.

A huge thank you to our generous sponsor, Brian Firth of Firth Truck and Van Hire, for kindly providing transport for the team to and from the peaks.

As always with HBCC, there's a competitive edge…a couple of the lads are attempting an ambitious “speed-run”, gunning to beat a 6hr 47min target – with a £100 bet and first pints at the pub on the line. So if you needed another reason to donate, consider backing them to glory (or a very sore Monday morning).

Please dig deep and support this amazing cause – every pound raised goes directly to improving the lives of families in neonatal care.

Thank you for your support – Up the Bridge! 🏏⛰️
