Story
The Date set is Friday September 11th 2020 @ 7pm for 24 hours..
The challenge will be:
24 hours running around the Hunningham Cricket Club boundary (339m) continuously. The format will be to complete a lap per person, for 24 hours with the real challenge being not only physical (Estimates that each person will complete 35km+ of stop start running) but also Mentally by lack of sleep, running through the night and exhaustion beginning to set in. Remember, we are not exactly athletes!!
We have decided to participate in the challenge which will test us physically but also mentally, all in aid of Opening Up Cricket - a mental health and wellbeing charity set up by a former Hunningham Cricketer and friend Mark Boyns. Opening Up are an incredible charity which travel around the country promoting mental wellbeing and suicide prevention through cricket. The main method of doing this is through sessions with clubs and coaches across the UK. Monies raised will go towards the funding of putting these on and providing resources for the cricket community to look after their mental health and really making a difference.
This is a fantastic opportunity to raise money and make a difference - the money will enable more sessions to go ahead and hopefully will impact people to open up and discuss any issues they have. If we change impact just one person, our challenge will be worthwhile.
All support and cheerleading would be hugely appreciated!!
