Story

"Saying goodbye to Nell has been incredibly difficult for everyone. As a family, the last few months have truly been so very, very hard. We know how much she was loved by so many people and how popular Nell was within her school community. We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from so many people in so many places. It really has helped us enormously.

Looking forward, we are determined that Nell’s memory will live on. Together with Nell’s school, the staff and students, we have started the The Remembering Nell Fund to create a lasting memory to Nell. One that she would have been proud of. Nell was a warm and compassionate person who loved to help others. So whatever we do in her name, we want it to do just that, to help others.

The cornerstone of what is planned right now, will be a new ‘Garden of Memories’. An area at Nell’s school, where people can reflect and think. It will be an area open to our whole community. A small team from within the school has been formed that include some of Nell’s friends and they will be the ones who help to create the lasting tribute. Work on the garden has already started, with the plans including a Contemplation area, a Japanese area and a Sensory garden.

We have put together a team of couch potatoes, fun runners, seriously well prepared athletes and just about every type of participant in between, to take part in the Tatton Park Yule Yomp, 10K on the 10th December 2017. It’s a great team that includes family and friends from home and school.

So we are asking everyone to please support us in our challenge. Every donation really will make a huge difference on. You never know, we may even set a few personal bests!! "
