Story

Hythe and Dibden Cricket Club is a friendly, local family club with a busy social scene. We have 4 league sides who play on a Saturday, a thriving colts section, a ladies softball team and a friendly Sunday team. We also have two darts teams and Hythe Aztecs also play football at the ground during the winter.

We pride ourselves on the role we play in the community and host the annual Hythe Village Fete, Firework nights and other fundraising events along side other local voluntary organisations.

The club as it is known today was formed in 1948 after two clubs amalgamated and moved to Ewart Recreation ground after the 2nd World War. The ethos of the club hasn't changed for many years - the main focus being to encourage people to play cricket and join our club.

We have many senior players who have played their whole career with the club and several of our current first team players (who recently gained promotion to the Southern Premier League) have come through our colts system.

Hythe & Dibden host cricket coaching for colts from ages 5-17. There's All Star Cricket for 5-8 year olds & League Cricket for U9s,11,s 13s & 16s. We pride ourselves in our colts section and were 'awarded '5 stars' for our All Stars delivery in 2018 - 1 of only 9 clubs to be awarded this within Hampshire.

By maintaining the family and community focus the club has always kept its membership fees low. This helps maintain and attract new players but also doesn't give us much spare cash to spend.

Following the recent vandalism to the club house (something we have never experienced before) we are having to re-address our security requirements. We know we need to make improvements and would like to add shutters to the windows, replace external doors, add additional security lighting and anything else we can think of but we are short of funds.
