We are a council of 5 Staff Nurses based in the High Dependency Unit of the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital. We are dedicated and motivated to improve our Unit and enrich the experience for patients, families and staff through various fundraising events and activities. So stay tuned!!

Paediatric High Dependency Care is defined as the provision of
close observation, monitoring and therapies to children who are, or have, a significant potential to be unstable. As a result of this our goal is to ensure that patients and their families have access to basic amenities, providing a more holistic and family centred experience.

For example; Thermos flasks with secure lids so parents can safely enjoy that much needed cup of tea whilst remaining beside their sick child. Along with this we are looking to buy comfortable recliner chairs so that families can stay together overnight, during their potentially difficult and distressing time within HDU as unfortunately we cannot cater for parent beds.
