I've raised £1000 to Invest into a permanent house of welcome for Palenque, Colombia.

2015: It started with a chicken house...and a prototype water filter. A small team form the United Kingdom spent two weeks building and modelling possible economic development projects to be adopted by impoverished homes in Palenque. There was also a week-long tennis camp run for the children with a village-wide tournament at the end.
2017: A children's 'kiosko' (structural hut) was built, by the generosity of donations from both sides of the Atlantic, providing a safe and comfortable space for any child of the village to come and be welcomed by the church, and for teaching and workshops to be held, whatever the weather!
In July 2018, Healing Community Life (HCL) is forming an international team from the United Kingdom and the United States who will be spending three weeks in the historic village of San Basillo de Palenque, in northern Colombia. The main aims of the mission are to; host a 'Women of Influence' conference for the women in the village, teaching English in the school and supporting the youth in the local church, get involved in the local young music talent through drum and music workshops, and developing renewable energy technology appropriate to the area.
Beyond this, a permanent house of welcome will be purchased (thanks to a legacy donation) for the residential team on the ground to use during the year, and will also act as a base for visiting teams to Palenque. The house will also host study groups, children's groups, as well as prototype renewable technologies aiming to enhance the quality of life for the residents of Palenque, despite the unreliable water and electrical supplies.
Please consider partnering and investing with us to support the ongoing spiritual, social and practical development work in the village and the surrounding regions.
For over a decade, HCL has been committed to the people of Palenque and hopes to continue to invest carefully into long-term projects that benefit as many in the village and surrounding areas as possible, by working closely with the village leadership to identify social, economic and technological challenges and to apply appropriate and strategic solutions.
