I've raised £200 to Help fund travel to Indonesia to teach children about their health and prevent any preventable illnesses.

A few others and I that study at Cardiff University are planning on travelling to Indonesia in February, this is to promote health to the local Indonesian children. This opportunity is part of a global learning experience which Cardiff University promote. By undertaking this opportunity, we believe as student children’s nurses we can make a difference in these children’s lives. Our aim is to promote health and introduce preventive measures to ensure that the children and their families can enhance their health.
In the UK, we are lucky enough to be provided with a health service that educates us, provides us with health resources and somewhere we can if we require any help. Unfortunately, this is not something that is global, which can often lead to expensive medical bills. By providing our knowledge and experiences we feel that we can provide understanding and basic health tips that will go along way for Indonesian children and families and hopefully be preventative enough to improve their daily health needs.
The duration of our time in Indonesia with be four weeks, we feel that this will not only enhance the knowledge and lives of local Indonesians but our own knowledge and experiences as well. This opportunity will provide us with a wider range of knowledge of the health care provided in Indonesia and how it differentiates from the health care we provide in the UK.
However, to be able to facilitate this incredible opportunity we need your help. We are kindly asking for any donations to make this happen. We will be bringing resources such as toothbrushes and toothpastes, so would also be extremely accepting of item as well. Money raised will go towards the cost of volunteering (this is paid directly to the Balinese family that will be looking after us, as well as the local schools we will be teaching in), and flights.
We are so thankful for your support.
