    Story

Healthy Minds are a charity based in Halifax who support people suffering from mental health issues.

See below for details about what they do, but we've got a lot of events lined up to raise money for this amazing charity.

    The events so far include:
    * Martin Roberts and a series of sponsored walks
    * Wendy Martin and a team of rowers from Leeds Rowing Club undertaking a 30 mile row
    * Sara Hobbs doing a 76 mile walk - The Inn Way in The Yorkshire Dales
    * A team of 5 (Debs Owen, Paul Goodwin, Oliver Wilby, Matthew Figg and Jo Core) doing a full 10 mile Tough Mudder
    * Jonathan Embleton has this to say about his event - ’Hi I will be doing Total Warrior in Shap Cumbria on Saturday 4th August. Its 10k of obstacles, jumping through fires and swimming in rivers full of sheep dung…..lovely. I’m doing it with my 2 brother in laws Andy and Chris. One is in the police and the other has just left the army so fitness wise I think they may be carrying me for most of the course ha. Its a lot of fun and its great to raise money for a charity close to home.’

    Martin's story:

Healthy Minds recognise different factors can affect people’s wellbeing and so provide a range of services for people according to their needs. They have recently moved into new premises and have set up an out of hours ‘’safespace’’ facility where people who have reached a critical point can be referred to receive 1-2-1 counselling. The ‘’SafeSpace’’ initiative is being run as a pilot within Calderdale by NHS England before it is rolled out nationally. Therefore over the course of this year, a number of fundraising and more practical ‘’hands-on’’ initiatives are being undertaken to support this worthy cause.
