Story
My beautiful friend Helen copping, is suffering from a very unusual type of cancer, especially in her liver and her options are fast running out. Her last chemotherapy didn't work and shes discovered a clinic in Germany that specialises predominantly in liver cancer. Howeve, its £4000 per treatment but she has a real chance of life longevity. She has been for one treatment-in Germany last sunday and after being thoroughly scanned with the fabulous equipment that they have at the clinic. she's heartbroken to discover that she has 80 percent tumours. She never dreamt that things were this bad as she's never been scanned this way in the UK. Helen is 45 years old, a wife, a mother, a daughter and a beautiful friend who could never imagine that this nightmare could happen to her. A huge zest for life, like ive never seen before. The most compassionate and kind human to grace this earth. Her passion is rescuing stray dogs from abroad and my days, has she brought so many back and rehomed them. I lnow that cancer has touched most of us in one way or another and im speaking from my heart when i say that i wish this treatment was available on the NHS in this country but the sad reality is that it isnt. Here is a message from Helen, who is uncomfortable with what im trying to do. Here goes and thank you for reading this. God bless you Hello my name is Helen, I have secondary breast cancer to my liver, bones and chest nodes. I have been under the care of the NHS and unfortunately I have gone through lines of treatment very quickly. I'm a complicated case due to my liver containing 2 types of breast cancer, so I have never experienced a stable scan. I never imagined at 45 I would be unable to work and contemplating a terminal diagnosis, I feel I have so much more life to live. I want to be here for my daughter, family and friends. I'm not ready to give up this fight. But there is hope for me in Germany. My liver is struggling so I will be going in the next day or 2, there is a specialist in the field of oncology/radiology called Dr Vogl who performs chemo embolisation as, one of his, treatments. It would deliver strong chemo straight to my liver via a cannula in the groin. I would also need more than one treatment as I have alot of mets in the liver. I would attend Frankfurt University Hospital around every 4/5 weeks. My treatment including scans and consultation will be 4000 euros to Dr Vogl, plus around £700/£1000 for 2 flights as I need someone with me and cost of a Hotel the night before which is between £70 and £100 plus taxi to and from the airport.I'm also trying alternative treatments/supplements to support my liver and organs through the chemo, these are costing more than £1000 a month. I'm sad and scared that I have to think about going to another country to have a treatment that here I am not a candidate for due to the guidelines. Now I know how tight money is for everyone at the moment so even if you could just share I will be forever grateful ❤️
