The Heatons Sports Club is a not for profit Community Amateur Sports Club serving all of the Heaton’s and further afield with over 500 senior and 550 junior members and is mainly financed by membership fees, daytime conferences and bar income relying heavily on key events to break even. Our business model has long been dependent on the Autumn months to bring in revenues from our winter sports of Lacrosse and Rugby and Blue Ribbon events such as Bonfire Night, Spooky Walk and The Christmas Dance.

All these events and more, as I am sure you are aware have been cancelled. There will be no rugby played until next year. I think it is fair to say the impact to our financial wellbeing is being severely tested.

Despite introducing cost cutting measures wherever possible, we will struggle to fund various must do activities, such as (and not limited to!):

· Grounds upkeep and maintenance

· Equipment maintenance

· Repair and maintenance of the Club House and changing rooms

· Adaptation of the Club to meet ever changing COVID-19 regulations

We are also looking longer term to create an outside bar area for our members, which can be used all year round.

We would be grateful to those who are able to make a donation to help us through this difficult time to provide all our members and guests safe playing and social facilities to support the sport in our community now and in the future. This will make a real difference to the Club in these straitened times.
