Weʼre raising £5,000 to help cover running costs of Hedgehog Rescue Blackpool for 2020 including veterinary bills, food and equipment.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
4 years ago I began helping sick and injured hedgehogs in my home on an extremely small scale. Then, 1 year later, I made the decision to invest in equipment allowing me to expand my care and increase the number of hedgehogs that would benefit. Since beginning this journey I have invested a lot of time and money into the care of these little prickly creatures. I am currently at the stage where I have a number of high quality homes, heat pads, an incubator and other equipment necessary to suit the needs of these endangered animals. In 2017, we took in 121 hedgehogs; and 314 in 2018. In 2019, the sanctuary rescued 545 hedgehogs. Each year appears to be getting busier and busier!
We usually have up to 35 hedgehogs at the rescue at any one time, as well as over 70 hedgehogs in foster care.
On Monday 24th February 2020, we officially became a registered charity demonstrating our ongoing commitment to the rescue and rehabilitation of local hedgehogs. At the moment we are wholly reliant on the generosity of our supporters and receive no public funding. Your valued donation will be used to help towards veterinary bills, food and equipment.
