Having explored all possible options in the UK, we were so desperate that we sent Heidi to the clinic in Germany without the full amount of money to pay for the treatment. On the Wednesday after her treatment started, I had no alternative but to phone my brother in law back in the uk for help to tell him the Hallwang Clinic had stopped the treatment until we could pay a further £29,000.00, and that we had 24hrs to find this amount. We managed to get the funds together by begging, pleading and borrowing, but still left the clinic owing £1579.42 which has been carried forword to the next lot of treatment. Before Heidi had the treatment in Germany, she was unable to communicate and was extremely tired. Now after only her first week at the Hallwang clinic she can speak again, and has more energy, which is remarkable since it's been around two months since she could speak. We have been told that Heidi needs six lots of the treatment, at a cost of approximately £39,273.42 each time. We have all sorts of fundraising going on, but the money is coming in too slowly. To get the best possible outcome Heidi needs to be back in Germany for further treatment.

On Bank Holiday Monday, Heidi's mum was hospitalised with suspected viral meningitis, and on Wednesday 29th August her father tried to commit suicide, because he can't cope with the pressure and stress that this has placed upon him and the family. Anyone who knows Albert knows that this would be very out of character for him, but with his wife in hospital and his daughter being so poorly he decided that the only solution was to take a significant amount of sleeping tablets, in conjunction with some of his pain killers. Albert is now doing well and pulled through and but sadly Beryl is deteriorating slowly. We are in a heart-wrenching situation, as we have three family members fighting for their lives. Unfortunately for Heidi, we do need a considerable amount of money to continue with her immunotherapy treatment.
