Story

Thomas is a friendly and sociable 14 year old teenager, who enjoys many of the things that other boys his age enjoy. Unfortunately he suffers from Angelman Syndrome a genetic condition which prevents him from doing simple things that we all take for granted. He is unable to talk, though is working hard at learning to use his PODD communication book, and he can't walk unaided and spends much of his life in a wheelchair.

A bike would help him achieve a level of independence that he can only dream of today, as well as helping to develop his muscles and core fitness. However, it's got to be a specially adapted tricycle that costs many thousands of pounds, and while desirable is not easily afforded.

It just so happens that I enjoy cycling, and have a place in the Prudential 100 cycle ride on 29th July 2018. I have decided to dedicate my ride to Thomas - and hope to raise enough to make Thomas' dream of a bike come a big step closer.
