Story

On September 14th this year one of our best friends Dave Williams was sadly diagnosed with a highly aggressive brain tumour (Glioblastoma multiforme) which has a poor prognosis.

Dave is married to Victoria also one of our best friends and they have 2 young children, Harry and Clara. They have all obviously been absolutely devastated by this diagnosis and we want to do anything we can to help them.

On September 25th Dave bravely underwent brain surgery and unfortunately suffered a stroke during it. Despite this he has battled hard to regain his mobility and on November 2nd has started a 6 week course of daily radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Following this he has a further 6 months of chemotherapy where he will have to take it for 5 days each month.

Sadly standard treatment is not very effective yet for this type of tumour but there are some treatments in development that are promising. To give Dave the best possible prognosis he has been accepted onto an immunotherapy trial in London and then he may need to undertake treatment which is available in Germany. For these he will have to travel back and forth and stay in London for weeks and the treatment in Germany costs around £250000.

To help raise money towards these large costs and give Dave the best possible chance on November 28th my husband Geraint and I will be walking 36.5 miles around the Gower, together walking a mile for each day Dave has to have treatment.

Dave and Victoria are such amazing, special people and wonderful, loving parents to Harry and Clara. Please if you can donate anything you can to help him access all the treatment he needs they and ourselves will be forever grateful.

Thank you
