By co-incidence as I am approaching my 40th birthday so is the much used and relied upon Wilsden Village Hall (my local village hall). The Village Hall is a central hub for the Wilsden Community and is relied on by many members of the Community of all ages for social contact and other services. The Village Hall hosts many groups including playgroup, youth club, dance and music sessions, Beavers, Brownies, Scouts, luncheon club, café life, preschool, after school club and last but most certainly not least the community library.

The Village Hall is sadly very much showing its age and is much in need of refurbishment so that it can continue to support the needs of the village community.

I make no comment about my appearance as I approach 40, but I may be showing my age in having a small midlife crisis and thinking this is the best time to run my first marathon....

SO.. I am running the Leicester Marathon on 23 October 2016 to raise money to refurbish this much relied upon part of my local community. Any donation would be very much appreciated and will keep me going over the long 26.2 miles of the course and will help the Village Hall keep going for many more years to come.
