Story

** IMPORTANT UPDATE!! THANKS TO A WONDERFUL VEGAN FAMILY WE HAVE FOUND A HOUSE!! IT HAS A ROOM THAT WE ARE GOING TO TURN INTO A CUSTOM INDOOR BIRD ROOM/HOSPITAL UNIT! WE URGENTLY NEED TO RAISE FUNDS FOR PENS, EQUIPMENT ETC! ** We have been running Big Red Rooster cockerel rescue for 5 years and in that time have gained a reputation for helping disabled birds in particular. Chesney, who came from a school hatch and who was hatched with some major facial deformities is our most famous resident. Chesney is blind and has a severe crossbeak. He, like the other disabled birds who share our home are a huge commitment and have to live indoors to receive the specialist care they require. Unfortunately despite this never being a problem before, our landlords have given us notice to leave because of the birds being indoors. This means we are looking at the terrifying prospect of not only being homeless ourselves, but worse, not having a safe place for these beautiful and precious souls to live. We are DESPERATE to raise enough money for us to be able to do something, anything, be that buy a small house, rent somewhere else suitable ( which is going to be extremely difficult with indoor chickens) or even a plot of land for a mobile home. I strongly believe that by taking these birds on and giving them a fantastic quality of life we have made a commitment to them for life and we just want to be able to go on doing that 💚
