I'd like to set up a creative writing prize at Murray Edwards College, Cambridge (formerly New Hall College) in memory of Helen Richards. I studied English Literature with Helen at New Hall from 1998 - 2001 and spent many years afterwards talking about books (and life, and everything) with her. Helen died of myeloma in 2017 and I'd like her to be remembered at Murray Edwards. She was such an inspiring person, passionately interested in the world and in people right up until the very end of her too-short life.

The money raised will be used to create a prize fund, for an award to go to a third-year student showing literary talent. I hope to make the prize annual and this fundraising drive will secure at least the first three years of the prize.
