Story
Nearly two years ago, I organised a fundraiser for this little soldier and his family. I was completely overwhelmed by everyone‘s generosity- as were his parents. It really helped relieve some financial strain, enabling them to devote their time to caring for this little boy. Sadly, after two years of fighting this terrible illness, the family received devastating news last week.
Tyler has had a relapse and his parents are now doing their best to come to terms with the fact that although he has had the best treatment, he now has a mere 5% chance of recovery. They cannot surgically remove the tumour because it sits on a main blood vessel (which makes it far too dangerous to operate).
The latest scan results show Tyler has 'something' on his pelvis and the cancer is now also in his bone marrow, as well as on the tail of his pancreas and possibly his lungs. The cancer in his stomach, knee, collar bone and kidney hasn't improved much, but his parents remain thankful that these areas haven‘t got any worse since his last treatment.
Tyler has tragically lost some of his very close friends on the ward recently and unfortunately his parents have seen first hand how quickly things can turn. Somehow though, despite what he is going through, Tyler still manages to keep smiling his beautiful smile.
Please give generously to give this little boy some more reasons to smile. All his parents want right now is to give him and his two sisters some unforgettable memories and experiences between his intense treatments. .
Thank you for your support,
Helen
