In January 2022 in a bid to be more active, we set a family target to walk one mile a day after dinner, for the whole year. This quickly became 2 miles, then 3, and we started to tackle longer and longer distances. In Nov 2023 Caleb took on his first half marathon walk (13.1 miles). Since then he has walked a total of 4 half marathons and thousands of miles.

The ultimate walking challenge is to take on an entire marathon (26.2 miles)! On Saturday 20th September, we will be facing this challenge head on, with some good friends. Walking the ‘Somerset Space Walk’ along the Bridgwater to Taunton Canal, Caleb is hoping to raise funds for his beloved 209th Lockleaze Scouts section.

209th Lockleaze Scouts are simply brilliant; they enrich the lives of so many children, whilst juggling practicalities such as the upkeep of the scout hut, increasing bills due to the cost of living increase, and needing to replace equipment such as tents and other much needed camping essentials. Paul (King Louie) and Claire (Raksha) work tirelessly to keep the section growing from strength to strength, and raising money for 209 will provide them some support in this important work.
