So, between the fireworks display and the Santa Dash we hope to be giving at least £1000 to two great local causes this Christmas. These are; - Visiting Friends, a charity who are focused on tackling isolation among Helensburgh’s older residents and - The Helensburgh and Lomond Food Bank who issue 35-40 food bags every week to local vulnerable people and families. I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone that donated online this year. I'm delighted to tell you that, along with the donations in buckets on the night we met our fundraising target and covered the full costs of the fireworks this year. We also had support from a number of local businesses - see www.helensburghfireworks.co.uk for the full list. We even managed to raise a surplus this year and all of that is going straight into our fund for local good causes!
