I've raised £2000 to Hello Red - UK Period Poverty Boxes

1 in 10 girls in the UK cannot afford menstrual products, 1 in 7 struggle to afford them.
Being off work during Coronavirus I saw a news report about Period Poverty and decided I wanted to help and use my spare time, if only in a small way. With schools closed girls are struggling to get the help they need.
So out of my own pocket, plus donations of money and sanitary products from friends and family I am going to make as many personal sized 'Red Boxes' as I can to give to those in need or donate to food banks locally.
The boxes will contain a mix of the following:
Tampons
Towels
Liners
Cotton pads
Plus a luxury item of either nail file, tissues, lip balm or similar.
I can personalise them to the needs of the receiver (tampons or pads) if you have someone in mind this would help.
Any donations are welcome!
Each box cost around £3-£4 to put together at the moment and this includes the box itself. So just £3 could make 1 woman or girls period that bit more manageable that month!
What a relief that would be, just imagine not having to make your own out of tissues for 1 month!
Thank you
Jemma
