Story
Hellys International Guitar Festival has moved to Crasken Barn, where we are running three full days of events from 14-16 Aug 2020.
The evenings will be similar in set-up to how they've always been, with indoor concerts from 6pm until late; but the daylight hours will be enhanced dramatically as we transform Hellys daytime into a magical feast of activities and workshops, and promote a whole range of young and local acts. We will subsidise all under 18s, so they can access the entire event for free, and continue to provide free 30-minute guitar lessons with international concert artists, for everyone who wants them.
Hellys has become an institution, not only in Helston but across the guitar world, and we never cease to be amazed at how many leading guitarists want to come and perform for us for a fraction of their usual concert fees. Even so, running this entire event does not come cheap. We are asking for your help in funding the daytime events, which will make Hellys 2020 the best in the series to date, and encourage more children and young people to take part in a host of creative activities plus, of course, listening to and taking part in music.
Anyone who puts £30 or more in the kitty will get a mention in the official Festival Programme (people not wishing to be named should donate anonymously or let us know please!) and be mentioned before each of the evening concerts!
