Story

My friend has had severe asthma her entire life and has been in two coma's in the last 6 years due to her condition. In this time she has been single handedly raising her three children. 12 months ago she had her disability taken away from her by the government, this meant she lost her car and most of her income. I see this woman everyday, sometimes she can barely walk from the school car park to the classroom to drop off her children, she struggles to breathe and looks grey. A few months ago she managed to scrape the money together to buy a car and set up her insurance, this was after paying hundreds of pounds a month for taxis to get her children to school. Today she received a phone call from an insurance company telling her that her car was previously in an accident and should have been written off, that means the man that had sold her the vehicle had ripped her off and allowed her to drive her young children around in a write off. My friend wants to stay anonymous because she is a proud woman and doesn't want people to feel sorry for her, I am setting this page up to help her get back on her feet, hopefully allowing her to get another car and have some freedom. Thank you so much for reading, it shouldn't take the generosity of strangers when the government should be supporting someone who has a true disability but unfortunately these are the times we live in.
