A Message from Amelia Roses parents:

Amelia-Rose is the product of the wonderful method of IVF. After 3 years of trying for a baby my wife was told that it would most likely not happen naturally. 12 months later with countless injections, massive emotional ups and downs and being told that Amelia-Rose would be 11 pounds when born she finally arrived in our arms in June 2014 (may I add she was just over 8 pounds when born)!

As you can imagine with her being our first child we were over the moon as she was our little miracle. There were no complications during birth and we were home within a few days to enjoy the sleepless nights and countless dirty nappies!

A year passed and we enjoyed all the time you do spend with your little bundle of joy and were also surprised after Christmas as my wife was expecting again (naturally this time)! However after this year we started to notice that not all seemed ok with Amelia-Rose as she had real problems trying to stand up without holding onto anything.

In November 2015 we decided to see a doctor about this and since then to this date (July 17) we have had countless appointments, X-Rays, MRI scans, blood tests and physio yet there has been no proper diagnosis to why she has increased muscle tone in her legs. Everyday she has to take medicine to reduce the stiffness in her legs but it cannot reduce it that much.

So this is where we are at, we have been referred for the SDR surgery and we pray this helps to make her walk unaided. So this is where we are asking for help due to it not being available on the NHS.
