Story

In October 2023, my husband, Gareth, and I are heading to Nepal to trek to Everest Base Camp.

It's always been a bucket list item for us and will be a life-changing experience. The trek is 130km (80 miles) at altitude, and it will be both physically and mentally challenging. However, recent events have made us realise how life happens so fast, and how other people are facing even bigger challenges every day.

I lost my mum earlier this year to a brain tumour, so my original plan was to raise some money for research into this terrible disease. Unfortunately, since my mum passed, we have had more bad news. A family friend has been diagnosed with an aggressive Stage 4 brain tumour. Such a situation would be devastating for anybody, but Zac will be just 22 in October, and found out about his illness the day before he graduated University this summer.

This is Zac...

I know my mum would want me to raise some money for Zac and his family to enjoy some precious time together. He is currently undergoing treatment. When we return from Nepal in November, his family want to do something special for Zac and create some memories they can all cherish.

I would really appreciate any donations, however small. We have funded our Nepal adventure entirely ourselves so ALL money raised will be given to Zac's family to help them enjoy their time with him.

If any money remains we will be donating it to www.thebraintumourcharity.org
