Weʼre raising £20,000 to Help Francis (age 1) who suffers from Cerebral Palsy get suitable transport and a sensory garden he can access.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Francis has Cerebral Palsy and a twisted spine plus many other needs, he is at risk from injury when being transferred between his wheelchair and the car seat, he cannot support himself and given his size he is now becoming difficult to transfer to and from the car, the government mobility benefit does not come into effect for Francis until he is three at the end of 2019, and given his needs he would benefit greatly from staying in his wheelchair and going straight into a properly adapted vehicle, however given to cost of these specialist vehicles and the need he has now, the quicker Francis can get an adapted vehicle that he (and his family) can be transported in the better and safer it will be for Francis, Presently we travel (longer distances)in two cars (because of the need for additional equipment and medication) but need to stop if have to give Francis assistance. We have contacted our MP who has spoken to the Minister for Disabled people who confirmed that the Mobility benefit for Francis will start at three and we should approach a charity for help. Additionally, Francis likes being outside in the garden where he can listen to all the noises of nature and other children and experience the outside as much as he can, we often pick flowers for him to smell so he can have some experience of being outside in the same way as other children do, however Francis is due to move house to his permamnent home soon and whilst the house will enable him to be taken from room to room easily the garden is 1m higher than the back door level and has no facilities he can access, so as a family we are hoping to have the garden made suitable for Francis by a specialist company who make gardens for Disabled children so that they can enjoy the pleasures of being outside the same as we do. We estimate the cost of a suitable vehicle and the garden adaptations to easily exceed £30,000
