This is a call out to friends and supporters of Laura aka Phoenix.

(If you did not know Laura was ill, please read this update from Laura).

Many of you will know Laura from being around the community in Crystal Palace: her stalwart work in co-founding Crystal Palace Food Market and working on it with Karen for the last 12 years, her work on many Crystal Palace Transition Town community projects, including a period as co-chair, and of course her love of animals and nature.

Laura's known in many other circles too. Small World, 5Rhythms/ecstatic dance, conservation work, all sorts.

So…. our lovely friend Laura has been suddenly diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia. This has come as an extreme and sudden shock, with Laura being blue-lighted into hospital immediately in mid-October after a routine blood test. Laura has begun chemotherapy treatment very quickly and completed a first phase under her hospital Haematology Team with further treatments planned.

As friends and supporters of Laura we would like to do a call-out to raise money during this very challenging time. We would like to raise as much as we can to help her manage this period.

As Laura is a freelance worker she is limited in what financial support she can access. We would also like to give something back to someone who has given a lot to this community - now it’s time for payback.

Many of us also know that Laura has been there for lots of us in our times of need so it feels only fitting that we do what we can for her.
