The night of June 26, 2020 started out as any other night. My colleague and friend Marz was in the prime of his life, enjoying a promising career and a loving relationship. He was in South Central, Los Angeles enjoying some time with a small group of close friends on a private roof. Marz had been working long hours and fell asleep. His girlfriend woke him up so they could head home for the night. As she was saying goodbye to their friends Marz accidentally fell off the edge and took what would be to most people, a deadly fall of 25 feet.

It is a miracle that Marz is alive. He chose life when he took that first breath after being administrated CPR by his friends.

When Marz arrived at the Emergency Room, his prognosis was grim. He has suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures to his body. He started breathing on his own within days of his fall to the surprise of us all. Although he is still in a state of coma Marz is showing encouraging signs of improvement. He is fighting everyday to regain consciousness.

The road to recovery will be long, and his immediate family, are still in the wake of this devastating tragedy. It is difficult to imagine what the future holds for Marz. This appeal will help his family to be able to support him through his journey back.

My aim is to get 250 people to donate £20 that I can then pass onto his Mum to help with his care, this will be part of a greater fundraising effort to raise $500,000.

Marz is passionate, brilliant, is 29 years old and has an incredibly generous spirit. He is the light of every room he enters with his genuine smile and warm wit. He is a dedicated friend, family member, worker, and partner. His compassion for others is palpable, his creativity knows no bounds, and he is beloved by all those who know him.
