Hello, my name is Carole, can you please help my daughter, Nikki in some small way to achieve her dream.

For 11 years, she has suffered two different cancers, undergone 6 surgeries and 18 chemotherapy treatments. She thought that the years of illness were behind her, but then in December 2020 she was told that the cancer had returned and that it was no longer curable. What devastating news!

Her marriage broke down soon after, and she had to stop working as a children’s nurse in intensive care. She could no longer afford the upkeep of her home, and so made the difficult decision to sell it three months ago. A buyer was found shortly after, she was relieved and started to plan her future. She wanted to spend as much of her precious time with her family and friends making memories. Her greatest wish was to buy a motorhome and to travel around the United Kingdom.

Nikki has done so much for charity, she always thinks about others before herself, it is just her nature. She entered the race for life several times, raising many thousands of pounds for breast cancer research. Instead of buying cards and presents this past Christmas she donated the money to three charities close to her heart. She is advertising items from her home on Marketplace and Nextdoor to benefit the charity Ovacome, who have supported her since she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2016. She gives food and other items away on Olio. She even wanted to donate the money from the items that were to be bought by her house buyers to Ovacome.

She recently put a deposit on a motorhome, and was looking forward to the day in August when she would be able to begin her travelling dream. Sadly this dream has now been ruined, as on Friday her buyers after several months decided to pull out from buying her home. She was so upset. She has gone through so much stress with the sale whilst  undergoing intensive chemotherapy. If she can’t pay the balance on the motorhome, then she will lose it and her dream of travelling the UK, which is so well deserved will be lost.

For many years I have raised funds for cancer and homeless charities such as Sunflowers and Cancer Research. I have been so lucky in that over the years my family, friends and acquaintances have supported the many causes that I have raised funds for. I never thought that I would need to ask for help for my daughter. Please support and help this wonderful lady, daughter, nurse and friend achieve her dream.

Any funds achieved over and above will be donated to Ovacome, to help them to support other woman living with ovarian cancer.
