Story
On the 17th of January 2022 my wonderful husband and I were told he had terminal, incurable cancer and only had roughly 18 months left to live.
He has Stage 4 Myxoid Liposarcoma, a cancer of the fatty and connective tissue. By the time we found out it had already spread throughout his body. He has a primary tumour on his calf 10x10cm, a large tumour pressing on his colon measuring 21x15cm, a large tumour under his right arm 13x12cm a smaller tumour behind his breast bone near his heart 4x4cm and 5 other tumours throughout his abdomen and left thigh. His disease has also spread to around 11 bones including his spine, ribs, hips, collar bone, upper arms and thigh bones. We were completely shocked to find out how extensive his disease was but Hilmi is a fighter and has vowed to face this head on. We have been advised that palliative chemotherapy and radiation are his only options for treatment but they will not cure him. This has left us searching for treatments outside of the UK. We are coming up to 18 months since diagnosis and although we have managed to keep the disease relatively stable, the last few months it has progressed and caused complications which saw Hilmi in hospital recently having life saving heart surgery.
We have found a clinic in Valencia that offers a wider range of options and immunotherapy treatments. They have indicated that due to Hilmi's advanced stage of cancer he would need a minimum of 3 months treatment. The cost for 3 months is estimated to be between £80,000 to £100,000. This includes his stay, his treatments and medications whilst he is there.

We have also found a centre in Prague that is offering cutting edge proton beam therapy which is a more targeted form of Radiation that is not currently available on the NHS in the UK. Hilmi has 9 tumours to get treated. The proton beam therapy will cost between £25,000 and £50,000 per treatment course

There is also a clinic in Mexico that that offer other treatments and they are costed at minimum £40,000 for 4 weeks treatment and have advised he may need 8 - 12 weeks, this doesn't include accommodation costs or prescription medication costs for Hilmi to take once he is home.

Hilmi is also currently on a course of medicines that we pay for privately and these are currently costing over £1,000 a month.
We want to give the Hilmi the absolute best chance we can but for that to happen we need to rely on the generosity of others. If we can raise the money we will be sending Hilmi to start treatment as soon as possible. The Money raised will be used to fund all treatment, hospital stays, consultations, travel expenses or medicines that Hilmi needs and to help support our family. If we don't raise this money we have no options left in the UK.
I need my Husband to live, for me, for our girls and for every single person who has ever had the joy of meeting him. He is one of a kind and someone that deserves the chance to live a long and happy life. The options are out there to hopefully make this happen but he needs help! Before even a single donation has been made I want to thank you for reading this and thank you to anyone who donates anything. I am eternally grateful.
