My dad is visiting Palestine this Wednesday (eek so last minute) and the only way to send aid to the country is directly through people. Therefore, this is the perfect opportunity to raise money for the Palestinians. The money that will be raised will be given to the local charities and people.

The Palestine-Israeli conflict has become increasingly dire since 1948. This illegal war has resulted in the loss of homes and lives of the Palestinian people; causing over 5 million deaths and 4.6 million Palestinians displaced from their homes, whom are now seeking refuge in places such as West Bank, Gaza and Syria. This mass destruction has allowed Israel territorial control over 98% of Palestinian land. To add salt to that wound, US has now pledged $3 billion a year in foreign aid to Israel. How can Palestinians survive when powerhouses like US are against them?

I read a quote the other day that shook me, "Sometimes I want to ask God why He allows poverty, famine and injustice in the world when He could do something about it; but I'm afraid He might ask me the same question." Whether you believe in a God or not, I would like to think we all believe in Humanity. It would be injustice to sit quietly and turn a blind eye when I know I could do something, even something small, to help the people of Palestine. And I pledge you to please do the same. Help me in this quest to help the Palestinians. Even a £1, may be insignificant to you and me but it provides hope to the Palestinians, and hope is priceless.

The apartheid against the people of Palestine isn't just a crime against them, but a crime against humanity.
