Rezia comes from a Bengali family. After getting married to a man to please her mum, and nearly dying giving birth to her son, she realised that she could not lie to herself anymore and divorced her husband. Rezia and myself met in May 2016. We realised very quickly that we were soulmates. The hard part was going to be telling Rezia’s family!

In August 2016, whilst looking after his 2 children in Rezia‘s home, her ex-husband hacked into her phone. He read all of our private messages and sent them to his own phone. He took their children, aged 2 and 10, and told them they would be better off with him as their mummy was going to burn in hell. He then told Rezia’s family what she was doing. They all turned on her and Rezia had to phone the police in her own home as she feared for her life! The police told her to pack up any items she may need and go and stay elsewhere for her own safety. She did, and has never been able to return to her home as she has been told she will be killed if she does!

Out of all her family members, she was closest to her sister, R. It was in fact R who took the news the hardest, we are still not sure why. Since leaving, R has started a vendetta against us both. She has had Rezia suspended from work by falsely accusing her of fraud (no further action was taken). She has contacted my ex-parner and told her i was going to abduct my child! She has reported us to the police for theft, and Rezia to them for fraud. All of which has cost approximately £25-£30,000 in legal fees.

Now, R has decided that Rezia’s home also belongs to her and wants half of her money from the sale. Unfortunately Rezia asked her sister to help her secure a mortgage in 2004. R has never paid a penny towards the house. R is even trying to claim that a second charge on the mortgage was done fraudulently, which we have to fight. This is simply NOT the case. We have proof of this. For the last 18 months, we have had to fight every step just to put the house on the market. For no reason, other than hatred, R refused to allow Rezia to sell her home and move on, and forced her to carry on paying the mortgage and council tax, on top of rental etc on a house she now lives in. It was only in court in February 2018 that the court ordered R to allow the sale of the house.

Our next step is to fight in court again for Rezia to keep the money from her house sale. We have mounting solicitor fees of so far, £4800. This could reach £25,000! We have no money left and simply want to fight for what is right in court. R had no interest in Rezia’s home before she found out that Rezia was gay. We cannot even go to the home as Rezia’s life has been threatened!

Please, if you can help us fight this injustice, we would appreciate it so much. Noone should have to suffer for being gay, and to be disowned by your family because of it and threatened is just unimaginable. We just want to move on and be happy.
