Story

Edit - we are now doing so well and we have received such an incredible response to Chase's story that we have added a little extra to the total to cover the justgiving fees and also to help towards the £3000 outstanding amount on our current Vets fees because of other pups we have helped in the past month. Their story is below, under Chase's.

Meet Chase, Chase is a 16 week old Whippet-Cross puppy. Chase was a happy pup, full of energy, always on the go, and very loving and attentive. Chase went to his owners, leaving his Mum at 8 weeks old, and for a few days things were great! Unfortunately for Chase, after a few days at his new home, he had a fall and broke his leg. Chase has now been handed over to P4T rescue, as his owners decided they could not afford the Vet's costs.

Before coming to us, basic care was sought for Chase, but unfortunately it has been unsuccessful. As soon as his accident happened, he had a cast put on his leg, which was on for 6 weeks in total. This was done to allow his broken bones to fuse. This on it's own was a success, but unfortunately during the healing process his elbow has turned the opposite way, leaving his leg badly bowed. It is now very awkward for him to run or walk without huge discomfort.

Chase is currently lame, and not using his leg at all. He does not seem like he is in much pain at all, being such a well behaved pup, but he needs to be able to run and let off the seemingly limitless amounts of energy which he has, which he is just unable to do at the moment!

On to where you can help! We have a FANTASTIC Vet we work with in Somerset, UK, who has agreed to attempt surgery to save Chase's leg. He wants to straighten Chase's leg using a metal frame structure, to see if we can save it and prevent amputation. Why is this Vet fantastic do you ask? Because he has agreed to do this operation AT COST. An operation which would normally cost well into the £1000's.

However costs are still VERY HIGH and Chase will require hydrotherapy and aftercare during his healing process. And - all this is happening whilst we already have a couple of thousand pounds owed on our Vet's billing account, from all our other dogs currently in foster care,. Yet again - must I state - we have a FANTASTIC understanding Vet that we work with!!

We hate having to ask for help, especially given that it is Christmas, and that time of year where things are tight for most. But if you could spare anything, even if it is just £1, Chase and ourselves, would be eternally grateful. If you cannot afford to donate, then please do the next best thing and share Chase's story, as you never know, someone may spot your post who can help this gorgeous pup!

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading, please do everything you can to make Chase's Christmas.

THANK YOU!!

Meet Amber. Amber is 2 years old and recently rescued from a puppy farm. She came in with ingrowing eye lashes and required eye surgery due to the pain and discomfort this condition causes. She is now making a great recovery and the vets have kindly allowed us more time to pay for this surgery. She will need to be spayed once fully recovered so extra costs will be incurred in the next month or so.

Meet Violet. The lovely violet was handed into rescue after being found tied to a tree by a member of the public.... Violet, who had no known name, had badly infected ears, small tumours on her belly and rotting teeth. She is absolutely petrified of humans sadly and will remain in her foster home for the foreseeable future to help build her confidence.... she was seen by one of our vets two days after being handed in, who kindly agreed to a payment plan. She had major dental work and whilst asleep was given a trim to remove matted fur and have her ears cleaned and treated for their infection . She's recovering well physically but mentally the scars are going to take a lot longer to heal

If you wish to donate in the future, making a recurring payment to help with our costs, or are based in Somerset Uk, and wish to foster or adopt then please contact us on p4tsomerset@gmail.com

Thank you so much for your help
