Story

Hello and welcome to our page!

Who are we?

We were introduced to one another through a mutual friend (bit of a guardian angel). She thought we would benefit from getting to know each other, because we share such similar symptoms of illness and weren't having much luck with conventional treatment. So we spoke and haven't stopped since.

"you may be surprised by who helps you when you're ill and how essential they are".

We instantly connected! It was so comforting to know that our silence and suffering felt the same, without even having to go into detail. We bring out the best in each other despite the pain and we agreed that our lives didn't have to end in a trip to Switzerland. We inspired each other and built up courage, to share our journey and make this page.

What's not quite right with us?

We suffer with complex medical conditions. Those that are chronic we just want to keep under control and those that are not we want to resolve.

Between us both we suffer with:

•Severe Nutcracker Syndrome

•Severe Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome (MALS)

•Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome (SMA)

•May-Thurner Syndrome (MTS)

•Interstitial Cystitis Syndrome

•Chronic pain

•Lyme disease

•Esophageal dysmotility

•Dysautonomia

•Severe Gastroperisis

•Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

•Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD)

•Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)

The severity of these conditions has a huge impact on our health and wellbeing. Resulting in us having different medical needs, ranging from; wheelchair dependency, urination and defecation systems and bags to enteral feeding

Basically we can't pee, poo, eat! without difficulty and aid.

How fundraising will help us

All of this can change our lives can change! We can (fingers crossed) not just exist but live again!

Even though we are fundraising together, and we both want what it says on our cover photo 'to LIVE one day at a time'. Right now all we are doing is surviving and that's not the same. We want to use the funds raised solely for medical related purposes but in different ways...

JULIET says:

After waiting on extremely long lists and being lost in the NHS system, for so many years now, has caused a huge decline in my health. Therefore necessary medical services such as; private health care are needed much more urgently, so i can get the necessary means to function. I can also get ongoing care and management for Lyme disease and specialist hormone therapy, that is currently unavailable to me on the NHS. Funds raised will also go towards my monthly supply of aids that help me eat, toilet and sleep. Getting this will improve my health and enable me to have a better chance at having a better quality of life. One where i can make memories and have some happiness whilst i'm still alive .

MOHIBAH adds:

All i want to do now is to LIVE like nobody's watching with manageable pain. After so many years of anguish, extensive diagnoses, lack of answers, lack of treatment options, i know its time now to get expert care overseas. My current treatment has been unsuccessful like all the rest and if it continues this way i will watch more of my organs die. I need assistance and surgery that is not recognised here. By the very few that are familiar with it; they just aren't willing or do not have the support or facilities to deal with my so many difficult issues.

My goal now is to register myself as a patient in the USA (this is what's required) to get the medical attention, that i really need.

Because these conditions are rare, they need expert care.

So please help us both, out of this desolation and despair. To reach the professionals we need, to get the right vital treatment and care.

How much things cost (roughly per person):

•Doctor consultations UK: £250+ Overseas: £500+ •Testing & procedures: £1000- £4000+ •Additional treatment costs ; Intravenous therapies £299+ Hormone therapy £500+ •Overseas Surgery & Pre-Operative care (only): £45000+
