Story

I'm trying to raise some money to help my little sister recover from botched breast reduction surgery and to pay for reconstructive surgery going forward.

Alea's Story

My little sister Alea is 22 years young and had a cup size of 85H until October 2023. Her heavy chest was causing her serious physical pain, so much so that she had to rely on a lot of medication to help her sleep and get through everyday life. Finally, the struggle with chronic pain started to impact her mental health too.

She fought for a long time with her own doctor and health insurance to cover the breast reduction, but to no avail.

As a young woman she did not have the financial means to do the surgery locally and therefore decided to have a breast reduction in the Czech Republic.

Botched Surgery

From there the difficult path began. She had the surgery in the Czech Republic, stayed there for two days before returning home. But all did not go well. The wound didn't seem to close and the breasts weren't healing as they should.

Alea went to see her family doctor, but after two weeks watching and waiting the breast showed no sign of improvement. On the contrary, a gaping hole did not close and any expert could have told her that she had fallen victim to dangerous and botched surgery.

She finally went to see a plastic surgeon and was told that she had bilateral necrosis. 50% of her left nipple had to be removed and her right breast was completely inflamed and she had got a huge wound infection. She also had necrosis on this side.

Alea was only a blink of an eye away from serious and life threatening sepsis.

My little sister had to take 3 different antibiotics for almost 2 months because the inflammation couldn't be controlled. Which was a very scary time. She since had to another operation to save the breasts and what was left of the nipples, but had to borrow funds for the operation.

Going Forward

Alea is currently recovering from her ordeal. She's £3,000 in debt already, which is a scary start for a young woman and is looking at further costs exceeding that amount to reconstruct what is left from the previous breast and life saving surgery...

Alea says,

This journey is taking a lot out of me and I'm currently on the road to recovery. I would be so grateful if you could support me.

Thank You, Sandra and Alea x
