Alfie is my son, and he is now 9 years old.
Alfie was born 11 weeks early, and taken into intensive care, where he spent many months.
Alfie spent all this time connected to machines to help him breathe.
Alfie was diagnosed with Cerebal Palsy at 16 months old, and from then on, I vowed to help my son any way that I could.
He has had intensive private physiotherapy every few days, and by word of mouth & a lot of research, I have been informed of a pioneering operation that could help my Alfie walk.
Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) is pioneering surgery that is proven to help children walk again.
On Monday 03rd October 2016, we travelled to Leeds and met up with a specialist surgeon & who gave us the best news ever.
He said that all of the intensive Physiotherapy sessions & hard work Alfie has done, has pushed Alfie to the point where he is able to have the surgery... and the Surgeon is willing to do it!

Unfortunatley this surgery is not available on the NHS, so we need to raise at least £50,000.00 to pay for this treatment (and 2 years aftercare) for our little super star Alfie!

We will also need to raise a further £15,000 - £20,00 for a 3rd year of aftercare and specialised equipment but our first goal is to hit that £50,000 and get that life changing operation booked
