Story

Our dear friends Anna and John lost their gorgeous Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Daniel who suddenly died after beating thyroid cancer. They rescued him when his owner died suddenly. They found Daniel to be very timid and slightly neglected but they loved and cared for him to such devotion they were utterly heart broken when they lost him a few months ago. Trying to help I sent them a picture of a Cavalier for sale who it transpired was from the same breeder and they saw some similarities so they visited the breeder. They were not allowed to see Beatrix's mother and when she appeared she was very under weight being only 4kgs at one year old, malnourished and terrified of humans. Without hesitation they bought her home and starting nursing her.

This lovely couple are in their twilight years and have their own health problems and struggle to catch Beatrix to try to feed her -sometimes it takes 2 hours. They have tried every type of food, harness, lead and toy and she has a new cosy fluffy basket she does like to snuggle into. She is the tiniest girl and is now barking constantly when she hears a noise as she is so scared. She follows Anna around sometimes but will not be picked up if she can run away. Feeding is very difficult as she is too scared to stay still to eat the food or drink. They have sought advice from vets, behaviourists and have the plug in for dogs to calm them. They been advised that the only way to address all of her issues is to fund the expensive canine behaviourist sessions.

We are helping them do a sale of some of their treasured items this weekend to help fund the help their little girl needs. Please do not look at this picture and think she looks ok. She has lost weight since this picture and the vets have advised that she may need to put to sleep if things don't improve. Beatrix was supposed to be a tonic for this wonderful couple who has given so much to others over the years (even nursing neighbours in their home until they pass away).

Any gift no matter how small will make a huge difference to this sweet little doggies care and will bring back the sparkle to Anna and John's eyes THANK YOU
