Help Drew & Sophie fight against Parkinson's

(***Above YouTube clip of a documentary Drew is making with his family to raise awareness of living with Parkinson's***)

We are raising money for our dear friends Drew & Sophie. After a lot of arm twisting, begging and reasoning they have finally agreed to let us try to help them in this small way. If you already know Drew and Sophie I am sure you will agree that it is very frustrating there isn’t more we can all do to help them at the moment. If you don’t know this awesome family then let us tell you a bit more about their situation.

Drew was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2017 at the age of 35. This came as a huge shock for Drew, his wife Sophie and their two young children. Fast forward 3 years, this awful disease has progressed extremely fast and has fully taken over their lives. Drew currently has an enormous physical and mental struggle just to get through each day. Sophie is trying to be wonder women by caring for Drew, being a working mum and looking after their two beautiful children and dog Rupert, keeping the house clean and tidy, school runs etc. On top of that, Drew was a Manager but was made redundant during the pandemic. He has been able to find other employment but is now too ill to work. His employers are very supportive and Drew hopes to return to work if the surgery is a success. How they keep going we do not know.

Drew and Sophie have been going to and fro from Cornwall to Bristol to have consultations with specialists in Parkinson's Deep brain stimulation surgery ( https://mayfieldclinic.com/pe-dbs.htm ) which has been more unforeseen expense. Drew has now been accepted to have this surgery which will take place at the end of April. This surgery will hopefully, in time, give Drew and Sophie the freedom to start living their lives again. The surgery itself comes with huge risks and Drew’s recovery in hospital alone could be anyway between 3 – 30 days, plus home recovery.

We want to raise money to give Drew and Sophie support with a lot of upcoming expenses. Travel, accommodation for Sophie in Bristol, food and dog kennel expenses along with many additional costs. Drew himself has previously raised £7000 for Parkinson’s UK by organising music festival days, lets try to raise as much money as we can to take away some of the financial stress from them. After knowing these amazing people for many years we can assure you, no one deserves it more than them.
